ZARA TANZANIA ADVENTURES LEADS ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP IN PASUA AREA

 



Today, Zara Tanzania Adventures, one of Tanzania’s most renowned and award-winning tour operators, carried out a remarkable environmental clean-up exercise around the Pasua area in Moshi  home to the company’s main offices. The activity was led by the company’s Founder and Director, Mrs. Zainab Ansell a visionary entrepreneur and advocate for sustainable tourism and community empowerment.

This initiative is part of Zara Tanzania Adventures’ monthly sustainable practices, aimed at preserving the beauty of the environment while encouraging community involvement in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings. Guided by the slogan “Green Tanzania Starts With Us,” the activity brought together staff, community members, and partners who joined hands to collect waste, clean up streets, and spread awareness about the importance of environmental responsibility.

Mrs. Ansell emphasized that protecting the environment is a shared duty and a reflection of the company’s philosophy of giving back to the community while promoting sustainable tourism.




Beyond today’s event, Zara Tanzania Adventures continues to champion environmental conservation through notable initiatives such as the Mount Kilimanjaro Clean-Up Campaign, which ensures Africa’s highest peak remains clean and protected, and the Ocean Clean-Up Campaign, which focuses on safeguarding Tanzania’s coastal and marine ecosystems.

Through its charitable arm, Zara Tanzania Charity, the company also supports a wide range of community-based programs in education, health, women’s empowerment, and environmental conservation. These projects are designed to uplift local communities and create lasting positive change.





A key partner in these efforts is the Mount Kilimanjaro Porters Society (MKPS), an organization founded with the support of Zara Tanzania Charity to improve the welfare of mountain porters. The society advocates for fair treatment, proper equipment, healthcare, and financial literacy for porters who play a crucial role in every Kilimanjaro climb. Through this partnership, Zara Tanzania Adventures and MKPS continue to set a strong example of social responsibility and ethical tourism, ensuring that the success of Tanzania’s tourism industry benefits those who sustain it.
