RESPONSIBLE WEDNESDAY: SUSTAINABILITY IN ACTION

At Zara Tanzania Adventures, sustainability is part of how we work, not simply something we talk about. Every Wednesday is our Responsible Wednesday, when our team takes part in an activity that contributes to environmental protection, community wellbeing, or responsible tourism.

This Wednesday, 16 September 2026, our team began the day by stepping outside the office and spreading out across the surrounding community to collect rubbish. Before starting normal office duties, staff members worked together to remove plastics, bottles, paper, and other waste from areas around our office premises.

The activity may appear simple, but it reflects an important principle behind responsible tourism: we must first take responsibility for the places where we live and work before asking others to do the same.

Tanzania’s tourism industry depends greatly on its natural environment, wildlife, landscapes, communities, and cultural heritage. Keeping our surroundings clean, reducing waste, supporting communities, and encouraging environmentally responsible behavior all contribute to protecting the destinations that make Tanzania such a special place to visit.

Responsible Wednesday helps make sustainability part of our company culture. Instead of limiting sustainability to policies or occasional projects, we encourage our team to regularly participate in practical activities that create awareness and positive change.
